How to Shoot Exterior and Twilight Shots on a Phone

The outside of the home is the photo that makes or breaks the click, so it is worth getting right. Twilight shots take it a step further, and they are one of the most eye-catching things you can put at the top of a listing. Here is how to handle both on a phone, and the one compliance detail you need to know about twilight.
The front exterior is your hero
Buyers decide whether to open a listing almost entirely on the first photo, and that photo should be the front of the home. Shoot it in soft light, early morning or late afternoon, with the sun behind you so the facade is evenly lit. Keep the horizon level, frame the full front with the landscaping, and grab three to five angles so you have options.
Steady and level wins
Exteriors are easy to shoot crooked because there is no ceiling line to guide you. Use the grid, keep the horizon flat, and if you can brace the phone against something or use a small tripod, even better.
About twilight shots
A true twilight shot, taken in that short window after sunset when the sky glows and the windows are lit, is stunning but hard to capture on a phone. That is why we offer twilight as a paid add-on, where we enhance the sky and lighting to create that dusk look from a daytime shot.
Here is the important part, and we say it plainly because it matters. Twilight and sky replacement are alterations, not automatic enhancements. They are an opt-in add-on, and they require disclosure on the MLS. We never apply them by default and we never describe them as automatic. When you choose the twilight add-on, we flag it for disclosure so your listing stays clean and compliant.
Shoot the exterior well, and if you want that dusk look, add twilight at upload. We handle the rest and return it the same day.
