Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life of a Real Estate Photographer

People think photography is about the camera. It's really about the light, the time, and the 200 decisions you make before you press the shutter. Here is what a shoot day at Capture Influence looks like.

6:00 AM — Arrival & Setup

We arrive at the property before sunrise. Why? Because the best exterior shots happen in the 15-minute window after the sun clears the horizon — the 'golden hour.'

Before the homeowner wakes up, we:

• Walk the entire property to plan shot compositions
• Identify the hero angles for each room
• Check that all lights, blinds, and doors are in the right position
• Scout the exterior for the best drone angles

8:00 AM — Interior Shoot

This is the core of every shoot. We work room by room, shooting 5-7 bracketed exposures of every angle. Each frame is captured 3-5 times at different exposures, which we merge later for perfect HDR.

Every interior shoot follows the same rules:

• Shoot from the furthest corner first — this establishes the room
• Use a tripod — never handheld for interiors
• Keep lines straight — verticals are critical
• Bracket every shot — we never rely on a single exposure

12:00 PM — Aerial Drone Shoot

With the interiors done, we break out the drone for aerial work. This gives buyers the context they need — lot size, neighborhood, proximity to amenities.

4:00 PM — Twilight Capture

If the listing includes twilight shots, we return in the afternoon. This is the 20-minute 'blue hour' window when interior lights glow warm against a deep blue sky.

6:00 PM — Edit & Deliver

Back at the studio, we merge brackets, color-correct every image, and deliver the final gallery — often within 24 hours.
